Finding m3u8 or m3u streams
This had me at a little loss because I always use pre-located streams, as opposed to finding my own m3u8 or m3u collections.
- Because I have a Roku (This can also be done with some other devices), I am first going to inform people how to install a channel that can play those streams. The channel that I think is most recommended is (channel is part of its name) channel PEAR. It works (I have not tested all these sources) on the Roku, Amazon Fire, Plex, Kodi, and Chromecast.
- After you have installed the channel on your streaming device, you then go to the website and create an account. Warning PEAR says “This database lists user submitted media sources. Channel PEAR does not moderate or host any of this content. There is no garuantee that sources will work and they may be deleted at any time.” The free account actually links up to two devices and allows you to associate 50 streams to your account. You can also buy a premium subscription to get rid of the limitations. There are instructions you need to follow to link the newly created channelPEAR.com account with your streaming device.
- At this point, you should have a account created on ChannelPEAR.com and also have that account linked to your streaming device. On the website you can go to the media database and add streams.
- When you add some streams to your account, they will show up under a library menu. (Similar to above) When the library is clicked on it will show all added channels. You can click on one of the channels added to your library and you will see a screen like this. (It might be hard to see but It actually has a link “Download Source” ) These sources (which sometimes are not what they are said to be) can be downloaded and opened from another player.
