Improve a Splitters Picture Quality
For those that use an attic or external antenna to pump over the air signal to your tv’s there is a good chance that you have more than one TV. and those TV’s use the same antenna. This usually is done via a splitter that takes the over the air signal from the antenna and splits it to multiple TV’s. The problem this can create is many times people will have extra ports on that splitter that aren’t used. (Think Antenna input then device splits to 2-6 outputs) When you have extra ports on the splitter left unused those ports are susceptible to interference. To improve a splitters picture quality and reduce chances of interference all it takes is a 75 Ohm Terminator on each empty port. So if you are leaving ports open and have some extra money purchase a terminator(s). There are many times people need to spend a few extra dollars to get free shipping (online) and if you find yourself in a place were its cost-effective for you to spend a few dollars in order to get that free shipping its always nice to have a couple lying around. Also if you are someone who is getting a house built and “runs” done to locations where a future TV might be, make sure those runs end with a proper terminator. A piece of coax cable does not terminate a port of a splitter. Although I have a link to Amazon above, you can buy terminators from Radio Shack (if that still exists?) or Fry’s electronics.
