There is a new streaming service called Tribeca Shortlist. Details are not that strong except that their are going to be many movies picked by popular actors, directors, insiders and influencers talking about movies that interest them. They have a YouTube channel that has various stars doing interviews about the movies of interest. It is curated by Lionsgate & TribecaFilm. Every film in the collection is picked by industry experts and is inclusive of major studio releases, independent studios foreign films and documentaries. It is going to run $4.99 a month with no advertising. It is going to be streamed to the iPad, Computer, Chromecast, Roku 2-4 with Roku Stick coming soon, Amazon Fire TV, with other streaming devices to be announced in November and December. When looking on Vimeo there are only a few reviews done by Alec Baldwin. When you go on the homepage of Tribeca Shortlist its informational video links to a video stored on Vimeo.
Because details are minimal and I can’t find someone else to give an interview its hard to form a opinion. It says that there is a free trial available so I will try it, currently it seems as though they are marketing it as a service that gets you Hollywood figures recommendations opposed to search results. When this is said it sounded good at first but after thinking I started to form a little different opinion. I have to imagine it would be a awesome service for film/drama students, but is an Hollywood figure gonna be able to recommend some movies that I like. So ill try out the service and give you a more informed opinion. If someone has a review about this service I think many people would love to read about it.
